About Marie-Sophie!
Marie-Sophie's journey is driven by a deep passion for movement. From a young age, she distinguished herself in competitive gymnastics, winning the title of East Canadian Champion in 2015, before going on to explore diving and trampoline. Eager to discover more about the world, at 18 she left Quebec for a three-year solo trip around the world, an adventure that profoundly transformed her outlook on life.
Back in Montreal, she joined the National Circus School and specialized in teeterboard, becoming part of the school's first all-female duo in that discipline. She also expanded her practice to Chinese pole, aerial silk, slackline, flying trapeze and skating. After graduating in 2023, she went on to explore different facets of her practice as a circus artist, through theatre and comedy, but also as a coach and collaborator on research and creation projects. She also took on leadership roles that allowed her to develop team management skills and discover the behind-the-scenes professions of the performing arts.
Alongside this, she discovered a passion for acting. In 2024, she landed two lead roles in independent films, as well as a role in a commercial in 2025, experiences that helped her develop confidence in front of the camera and a growing appreciation for storytelling and emotional expression.
Today, she is also pursuing a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, driven by a desire to better understand human movement, performance and health, and to bring that knowledge to the circus community. Curious and committed, she remains active in that community as a performer, teacher and collaborator on artistic projects.
